So, You Want To Stop Violence? Do you really want to stop the violence?

Author Jason Irby will observe the one year anniversary of the release of his 4th publication in the Love Within Life series.

The book, So You Want to Stop Violence? has received a variety of reviews, media coverage and presentations.    Irby has asked the community, do you really want to stop the violence?  His hope and intent is that the book of poems and short stories will offer readers awareness about the subject, opportunity to choose, and a prospective to choose wellness.

Over the past year, sports authorities and athletes have been suspended, convicted or fined for violence related actions.

Law enforcement officials have been investigated, suspended, indicted or acquitted of wrong doing or related actions.  Protesters have resorted to violence and disruption, riots and dismay in the wake of social change and judicial decisions or actions.

In June 2014, Irby hosted the Awareness, Wellness, and Choices Fair to promote his newly released book Love Within Life: So You Want To Stop Violence? and to encourage our youth to face life’s “hard choices” by making wise decisions.

Irby requested that the sports leagues and sports entertainment organizations join the effort and cease the use of Hip-Hop music containing inappropriate messages. These messages promote getting high, getting wild, and getting wasted and are used in bumper music, promotional media, playlists, and cross promotions.

Irby was joined at the fair by community leaders and organizations. Presentations were made pertaining to the well-being of today’s youth and surrounding communities.

Make this 2015 month of Juneteenth and Black Music Month a positive one.
