2023 Legend Among Us Honoree
Philander Smith College
Philander Smith College is chosen as a 2023 Legendary Institution among the 2023 class of Legend Among Us recipients.
Philander Smith College is the first Historically Black College in Arkansas and it is located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
“As I reflect on how Philander Smith College was selected as this first time category of the Arkansas Heritage Celebration of Black History Month and Legend Among Us event, the fact could not be ignored that a number of previous Legend Among Us recipients were either students, staff, or administration of this great institution.
Philander Smith College has engraved, carved, and imparted a spirit of achievement that has rendered Legends who greatly impact our state, nation, and world.
I recognized this and proudly take this opportunity in history to present Philander Smith College as a Legendary Institution and Legend Among Us recipient at the Eighth Annual Arkansas Heritage Celebration of Black History Month.”
