Author Jason Irby Spearheads Food Contest to Discover Official Arkansas Signature Food Dish

Arkansas has dozens of inherited food dishes or entrees that are commonly prepared and eaten by Arkansans and even shared around the world, but none bear a name associated with Arkansas or a city/municipality within its borders.

Jason Irby, author of My Arkansas, My Home, a publication from his Love Within Life series, has spearheaded and designed a contest which will discover and designate an official Arkansas Signature Food Dish or entrée.

The winning contestant is expected to receive $1,000 in prize money.  There will also be second and third place winners.

Jason Irby Reviews Women’s History Month and Arkansas’ Distinguished Women held at Arkansas Children’s Library

Author Jason Irby of North Little Rock will host a program open to the public entitled “Arkansas Women of History” in observance of Women’s History Month, Saturday, March 21, 2015.  The observance will feature an exhibit and panel discussion at the Hilary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library and Learning Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

2014 Year End Review: Reflections on Patriotism, Personal Accountability and Violence Prevention Addressed in Author Jason Irby’s 2014 Endeavors

Hosting the Arkansas Flag-Wabbaseka Memorial Commemoration Ceremonies, the Awareness, Wellness and Choices events, and participating as a panelist and speaker were incredible experiences. It was a great honor to stand with our nation’s military servicemen and women, police officers governmental officials, civic leaders and members of the community.

Speaking before youth from the University of Arkansas at little Rock (UALR), the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in Conway, Arkansas, the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission summer youth (L.E.A.D), and other youth groups, such as, the African-American and Hispanic youth initiatives.
