Author Jason Irby to Present Annual Arkansas Heritage of Black History Month Celebration 2019

On Saturday, February 23, 2019, Jason Irby will present the Fourth Annual Arkansas Heritage Celebration of Black History.  This year’s theme is The Integrators.

Scheduled to make presentations are representatives from the following Arkansas high schools:

  • Students from L. W. Sullivan High School integrated into Morrilton High School
  • Students from J. S. Walker High School integrated into Willie K. Hocker High School
  • Students from Howard County High School integrated into Saratoga High School

Author Jason Irby Spearheads First of its Kind Native American Heritage Month Fair entitled “Black Indian and Native American Heritage Month Fair”

The Black Indian and Native American Heritage Month Fair begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10th with opening comments from the event establisher, Jason Irby, followed by a presentation of colors by the Parkview Arts Science Magnet High School ROTC.

“We presented this heritage event to preserve the history of Native Americans and the people of African descent who shared relationships among them.  Relationships ranged from friendship, family membership, to slavery,” said Irby.

Author Jason Irby Presents “Legend Among Us” Recognition at 3rd Annual Arkansas Heritage Celebration of Black History Month

Join author Jason Irby for the 3rd annual Arkansas Heritage Celebration of Black History Month.  The event will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Hillary Rodham Clinton Arkansas Children’s Library and Learning Center located at 4800 West 10th Street in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Reception immediately following.

Community Participates in Flag Ceremony Hosted by Author Jason Irby at the Arkansas Flag-Wabbaseka Memorial Plaza

Community leaders and organizations participated in the “Arkansas Flag-Wabbaseka Memorial’s Inaugural Year Celebration.”  

The Ceremony was held at Wabbaseka City Park in Wabbaseka, Arkansas on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 2:30 – 3:30 pm. The ceremony commemorated the one year establishment of the Memorial Plaza in Wabbaseka’s Community Park. The memorial is the concept of author Jason Irby who grew up and attended schools in Wabbaseka.

“Recognizing history and giving back to my hometown and community has always been a goal in my life,” says Irby. “I am proud that the community has joined and participated with me to lift and recognize the history of Wabbaseka, a fading small town surrounded by agriculture that I call home.”
